A hotel in Cappadocia distinguished by its commitment to the environment
The only hotel in Turkey to become a finalist in the “Green Award” category, Argos in Cappadocia is distinguished by its harmonious deference to the natural beauty and atmosphere of Uçhisar.
Argos in Cappadocia (AIC) has become the only hotel in Turkey to be named a finalist in the “Green Award” category introduced in 2009 by Conde Nast Johansens. Opened after an extensive 13-year renovation, the hotel is a fairy-tale world in harmony with the magical atmosphere of Uçhısar.
Just as in days gone by, Argos in Cappadocia uses only precious pigeon guano as fertilizer on its spacious grounds. (Pigeon droppings consist of 25% organic materials, 2% nitrogen and 1% phosphoric acid.) Fully committed to blending in with nature and operating as an environmentally friendly green hotel, AIC continues to explore ways to expand on this philosophy in its operations.
Open for just one-and-a-half years, Argos in Cappadocia is located in the heart of Cappadocia in Uçhisar, with sweeping panoramic views from Pigeon Valley across the endless steppes to Mt. Erciyes. A boutique hotel with 34 rooms, AIC serves both local dishes and specially selected international cuisine in its restaurant. The rosemary, basil and thyme grown on the premises, as well as organic vegetables including radishes and tomatoes, enliven the freshly prepared meals.
Furthermore, we plan to use the muscatel vineyards covering a large area of our grounds to produce icewine, a labor intense dessert wine created only under very specific natural and climactic conditions.
