Our Story

A unique landscape created by volcanic tuff and delicately shaped by wind, snow and rain for over thousands of years... The homeland of the Hittites, the largest monastery settlement of the world for centuries, the native land of grapes and wine, the cradle of Christianity, the heart of the Seljuks, the oasis of the Anatolian steppe or the "Land of Beautiful Horses" as the Persians called it: this is Cappadocia...

The unfolding of a fascinating history, a mystical atmosphere, a beauty forever etched in mind... And in the middle of all this stands a hotel built with a love for this region: Argos in Cappadocia... It is the most special hotel of the land which underground cities were carved into thousands of years ago, millions of pigeons considered to be the safest nest, and monks retreated to for centuries.

The hotel offers an unparalleled stay with a unique value offering from one of a kind room options to an enchanting history, staff to food & beverage varieties, decoration to architecture, eco-consciousness and pet friendliness to a meaningful contribution to the region.

argos - Our Story

Argos in Cappadocia is one of the most original transformation projects in Cappadocia. It has been meticulously put together since 1996. It all started with the idea of building a house. It was initially a piece of land purchased thinking “this is the place to live”, but the historical remains unearthed during construction changed all plans.

argos - Our Story

The desire to reveal, preserve, promote and embrace the beauty of Cappadocia transformed the idea of building a house into building a hotel. Under the supervision of expert architects, historians and the cultural and natural heritage preservation board, the hotel rooms, each of which took years to build and to be gradually incorporated into an area of 13,500 square meters, were inspired by the region in all their aspects from texture to decoration. This is how Argos in Cappadocia, the "hotel with a village for a heart", was born.

argos - Our Story

Argos in Cappadocia is a "hotel of fine details". From the table to the carpet, the audio system to playlists, the soap to the umbrellas, every minute detail in the rooms has been put together, as our guests would say, with "sophistication". Built using local stones and wood, the rooms are furnished by combining traditional Turkish handicrafts with modern furniture.

Our hotel gives you the opportunity to spend some alone time in your room and focus on your creativity or to relax, as well as the opportunity to socialize with many different activities. At Argos in Cappadocia, you can unwind in the pool while watching the colorful dance of hot air balloons, have a massage while enjoying the view of Mount Erciyes and Pigeon Valley, treat yourself to a delicious meal made with the produce grown in our own garden at our restaurants, taste our award-winning wines made with the grapes from our vineyard at lounge area, or lose the track of time as you let your eyes wander towards the valleys, vineyards, apricot and apple orchards by the fireplace or on the terrace in the evening.

argos - Our Story

Even if you never leave the hotel, you will find yourself immersed in a wealth of details carefully picked to perfectly blend with the true texture of Cappadocia and to give you information about the basic characteristics of the region. How many hotels are there in the world with a centuries-old underground tunnel underneath it? A part of this tunnel, originally thought to be six kilometers long, connects Gemil Mansion with the Tünelli Mansion of our hotel.

Within the Doğuş Hospitality & Retail Group, we are dedicated to improving the quality of life for both present and future generations through a comprehensive sustainability approach, guided by Doğuş Group's vision of an "Inherently Better Future." Since its establishment, Argos in Cappadocia has embraced a core set of values that prioritize local sourcing, support the local economy, and showcase the richness of local culture. Our objective is to establish a symbiotic cycle where rainwater is collected and used as greywater for irrigation, our gardens provide fresh produce for our menus, and kitchen waste is composted and returned to nourish the gardens. Recognizing our responsibility to create long-lasting value for our stakeholders and society, especially within an industry that profoundly impacts people's lives, we remain steadfast in our commitment to sustainability while providing an exceptional guest experience at Argos in Cappadocia.

Respect for Nature.

The use of heat pump instead of solid fuel significantly reduces carbon emissions at Argos in Cappadocia. The heating system used in the hotel provides 60 percent energy efficiency and prevents carbon monoxide emissions, as well as providing 24 percent savings in heating costs. The vegetables, fruits and pieces of trees grown in the hotel’s garden are milled and cut into small pieces. They are then left to rot and ferment for a period of 3 months; after being sifted they ready for use, contributing to compost production.

Osman Özel

Argos in Cappadocia has changed our lives. Having put our heart and soul into it since its construction, we tend to it as if it is our own hotel. We feel not like employees, but like owners... We have worked hard for it, and will continue to do so. These words belong to Osman Özel, who is the oldest member of the technical team. He was born and raised in Uçhisar. He first set foot in Argos in Cappadocia when he worked in the construction of additional rooms. Osman's job is tough, but he is happy with it; "Technology never ceases to advance! This encourages us to constantly improve ourselves and learn. We always have to renew our approach and update our way of thinking,” he says.
